do fifteen pushups
9.22.26
That’s all you need to do and it’s not that hard. Just do fifteen pushups. Okay, great, you did them. See? That was doable. And here’s the thing: you can tell right away that it was worthwhile, like it mattered and your body felt it. Ten wouldn’t have been the same, it wouldn’t have been as hard, might as well have done none. Twenty? That’s too many and maybe you actually would have failed at, like, eighteen. And you sure as shit wouldn’t have done another set of twenty today or probably not even tomorrow, because tomorrow you’re going to lunch and you need to pick out an outfit. But fifteen wasn’t too bad, and you can do another fifteen this afternoon, maybe around one-thirty? Now, look at you, you’ve done thirty pushups today. And that second set of fifteen pushups felt good, didn’t it? And it wasn’t too hard, was it? But you felt the fifteen pushups, you felt them in your shoulders and your hips and in your soul, just a little bit. Imagine if you had had to do twenty again?! You wouldn’t have done even twelve of them and you know it. You know it! But because you had only done fifteen earlier, you were able to do fifteen a second time.
And guess what? You’re about to do fifteen pushups again, this evening, probably after dinner, maybe like an hour and a half after you’ve digested and everything.
Damn, look at that, you just did forty-five pushups today because you did fifteen pushups.
